Samuel Moulton was apprenticed to Edward Cooke on the 11th January 1764, on the same day he was turned over to Samuel Cooke a musician !! and on the 25th February 1766 a William Harrison goldsmith, free 6th February 1771.
First mark entered as a smallworker 30th March 1772, the address " at Mr Osbornes 18 Little Britain"
In the Parl report list of 1773 he appears as a bucklemaker at the same address, and on the 22nd July 1774, he appears at a new address "210 Borough" he seems to of made another 4 marks over the next 10 years and "Heal" records him as a bucklemaker at the same address on the 28th September 1785.
This pair of tongs are of the "solid cast type"and are off a good weight, the bow has an attractive engraved edge with a single "R" engraved in script.
