Samuel Godbehere and Edward Wigan formed a partnership on the 13th September 1786, at 86 Cheapside London, on the 15th March 1800 a James Bult was added to the partnership and the firm became known as S Godbehere & Co  (for tongs by Godbehere click here)

This pair of tongs are of a very delicate and attractive design, their condition is excellent (maybe over polished !!)

For a pair of Cast Tongs they are very late, as they are dated  for 1793, this is very unusual for cast Tongs to be made as the style now seemed to be the solid bow type.
