  THREE PAIRS

l have attributed the following pairs to Robert Makepeace although that is not certain, there are three makers who it could be, Richard Meach entered 2nd March 1774.  Richard May 14th May 1778 ? Robert Makepeace mark made in 1767-75 is not recorded, any suggestions would be welcomed, as there is no duty mark his son Robert Makepeace ll is too late (1788)

The first pair are one of my favorites, the casting is very fine and there is a lot of detail, l feel there are classical influences and also the engraving of Adam type flowers finish it of well, the tapering from the legs to the bowls must make them weak,  a truly stunning pair. There is a engraving on the bow of W P.

The second pair which are not engraved have a good solid feel about them

The third pair are another which are very well designed, with swirling acanthus leaves and very fine circles, with a nice leaf engraving on the side of the Bows.
