Thomas Wallis ll, was apprenticed to Thomas Wallis l, however there is no mention that they were related.
Thomas Wallis ll entered his first mark as a plate worker 7th November 1778, he went on to enter another 12 marks, and died 10th June 1836

The Mark shown here is not very clear, the Tongs are very attractive with very thin Cast Arms, ending with very well made Acorn Bowls, the Tongs are quite narrow, but in very good condition, a good example of 18th Century craftmanship.

These are late for Cast Tongs as they have the Duty Mark, l have not seen many made this late in the 18th century, they are quite a Large Pair of Tongs (5.75"), and have unusual shaped Bowls with some very attractive engraving on the Bow.

The makers mark appears to be used between 1786-1790 (thanks to Graham Hodges of www.silversugartongs.com
