A PAIR OF BRIGHT CUT SUGAR TONGS LONDON 1803

These Tongs were made by the partnership of Samuel Godbehere, Edward Wigan and James Bult, this partnership was formed on the 15th March 1800, and lasted for eighteen years

These Tongs are 14 cms long and weigh 29.6 grams

l have included a lot of pictures of these Tongs as sadly in their life, there has been a removal of a monogram or family crest.

This has caused a thinning of the Bow although they have plenty of spring.

lt is not unknown for stolen items to have the monograms crudely removed possibly by disgruntled staff, if caught then no doubt the sentence would of been quite drastic.

The Bright Cut Engraving is still very clear.
