A delightful George the Second Cream Jug

 

 

This Jug is in a very good condition, the weight is just under 100 grams and stand 11 cm high (to top of handle), as with a lot of silver from this period the decoration could have been added in the Victorian Age.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fully Hallmarked for London 1753-54

Made by Charles Chesterman 1st

 

 

 

Charles Chesterman was apprenticed to George Jones, his first mark was made in 1741 as a largeworker his address was Horton Street, his second mark was made in 1752 Mark on Jug) at Carey Lane, he moved to Rose and Crown Court in Foster Lane in 1754, his third and final mark was made in 1771, and he died in 1775.
